Rob Zukowski is a New York State licensed massage therapist, certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, a Certified Medical Massage Therapist and holds a degree in Occupational Studies, with a focus on massage therapy, from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences.
He is certified by the American Heart Association in the Health Care Provider CPR & AED Program, certified in basic first aid in accordance with the American Heart Association CPR & ECC guidelines and the International First Aid Science Advisory Board.
In addition to private practice, his experience includes being a massage therapist, lead therapist and member relationships manager in assorted spas and holistic healing environments and working in corporate wellness environments.
Rob authors his own column on the subject of complementary and alternative medicine in a national HIV/AIDS magazine, works in student outreach and lectures on therapeutic massage for various pathologies.
While attending school he interned at the Stress Reduction and Therapeutic Massage clinics at the P.H. Ling Clinic at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, Housing Works, the Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York City Triathlon. Additionally, he is a volunteer massage therapist for the the Northeast AIDS Ride and has advanced training in sports massage.
While massage therapy and working in the field of complementary and alternative medicine were long time career goals, he worked previously in digital media and communications, member services, professional photography and LGBT non profit project management and activism
It is his belief that massage therapy, tailored specifically to an individuals goals and needs, is a healthy path to follow on the road to greater wellness. He has worked with many clients whose needs range from stress and anxiety reduction to an assortment of illnesses, pathologies and injuries.
Currently, Rob is pursuing education in a multi therapeutic approach to oncology massage.
